How to change Spark plugs on 2004 Escalade ESV

    Hey guys,

I've located the spark plugs on the engine on either side, I'm just not sure about how to remove the old ones.

Shown here is the wire going into the spark plug.

There is a rubber grommet in a metal sleeve.

How do I remove this without hurting the wire? Truthfully im a Euro guy, and spark plugs on inline 6's are cake compared to this lol.

    Also

    I purchased Autolite XP5245

    Are these pre-gapped for the 6.0L V8?

    Thanks for your help guys!

The only way is to just pull them off. They can be a real bugger to get off and may break, but not a big deal if you have new ones. There are special pliers you can buy from autoparts stores, not too sure if they help or not. The job doesnt get any easier to replace the sprak plugs, they can be tough to reach. Good luck.
