I have a 2005 escalade I recently bought 3157 led lights for my DRL's and front turn signals. When i installed them the DRL's didnt come on at all and when i went to use turn signals both the dash turn signal lights lit along with my mirror and taillights, they just lit sold and stayed on but the front leds didnt light at all???
(I know the drls are 4114 bulbs but i already had 3157 blue miniature bulbs in the sockets and they worked fine)
the led's should work fine something ain't right cause i run led's in my drl's right now check the sockets the blinkers is using the non heavy duty flasher mine does the rapid flash with led bulbs and i use the same number but mine is white led's in my drl's get a heavy duty flasher it might fix the issue
no i didn't think about it i may try it next time i have the hood up which is rare for me since i don't have much trouble from my truck i may just go ahead and try it tomorrow to see if it works thanks
they don't make 4114 bulbs for the drls and it is the front blinkers that give issues with but i will try flipping them before i put them in the blinker sockets like niftymonte posted i have 3157 led's with no problem in my drl's
For LED DRL's if they don't light up, you need to flip them and make sure they're seated really well. I have some in mine, and when I installed them, I had the same issue. I actually turned them around and got them to work, but then turned them back the wrong way because I like the look better without them lit up.
As for the hyper flash - the LED's don't have the electrical load that regular bulbs have. Therefore the truck thinks that the bulb is out (hence hyper flash) The fix I did (because I have LED tails) was to get some $3 trailer tail lights from Walmart and wire them into the signal wiring, and mount them under the truck. Problem slved, for $3.

Re: 2005 Escalade (LED) DRL & Turn Signal Trouble
@ the cadillac man - i believe cepman was trying to say that he took a set of cheap trailer lights and spliced them into the body's signal wiring (taillights)- essentially leaving the trailer wiring untouched
