Question Predator Programmer or Complete ECM Swap ?

I just now came across a site called www.nelsonperformance.com thru this forum and he does a complete ECM Swap that is apparently better overall performance than any hand-held programmer...

What do you guys think - Diablosport Predator OR Nelsonperformance ECM swap?

You might want to check out Black Bear Performance. I purchased a 91 octane traditional tune from
them and could not be happier. The research I did, seemed to indicate an ECM swap is the best
    overall way to go.

Putting this ECM into my 05 Escalade really woke the vehicle up.

Re: Predator Programmer or Complete ECM Swap ?

Hey I heard about them a loooong time ago. However, I went with the Diablosport Predator mostly cos I got a really good deal on it complete with the USB adapter and AC Adapter (for datalogging to a Laptop). Seems like the Predator is rated very high and I really like that it has a 91 AND 87 Octane Performance Tune plus a ton of adjustable stuff. Also the fact that I can program the truck back to stock at the touch of a button.

Oh and btw, just thought I would let people know that not all Predator programmers are the same although they look identical! I made this mistake before and lucky the seller took it back. Now make sure that when you buy one (new or used) - that is Revision 9Rxxx (xxx being whatever version). AS LONG AS ITS A 9R.... - ALL the others are older versions and cost $99 plus shipping to update. Stay away from the Granatelli Predators those are THE OLDEST ones!! That was when Diablosport and Granatelli Motorsports where together (a looooong time ago lol). Oh and the 9R versions can be updated for FREE from their website, right on your PC via the USB Adapter.

Anyways I will post my results when I get to use it this week

Received the Predator yesterday and it was pretty straight forward. I installed the "87 Octane Performance Tune" at first and I could tell right away that the truck drove differently. Smoother acceleration was very noticeable. I would like to take it for a nice highway drive to see what I average after installing this tune but I decided to do the Electric Fans conv. first
