    Escalade gear lever chrome trim

The chrome trim piece on the end of the gear selector lever on my '04 Escalade is cracked and the chrome is peeling. Has anyone found a replacement part for this without buying the whole lever assembly ($250+ for the assembly alone).

Thinking of painting mine in satin black and re-installing. I think that would go well with the interior.
