Need Part Number 2005 Escalade Touch Screen Nav Radio - Page 10

Im interested in installing one of these in my 2005 escalade, I have read through these forums and am a little confused about the part numbers for them. I have the Y91 option, but the part number for all of the listings that I see for Y91 Touchscreen Nav units is #15800001 which I have not seen that part discussed on these forums it is a 2006 Model is that why?

I am also finding a unit with a part number of #15800000 that says it works with the Y91 option. So i am assuming between the #15800000 and #15800001 one of them will not work with my escalade can anyone confirm which part number between these two I need?
The part numbers must be new on the 2006 Models...

Also by reading I am understanding that I do not need to connect a VSS wire as it is already connected in a 2005 is that correct?

I have a question to those owners of the touch screen navigation that comes in the escalads, hummer, yukon etc. Will the maps display without the disc being inserted? i know you have to program it, butwhat i mean is does the system have some kind oh hard drive to where you don't have to always have the dvd in there. I ordered one of these radios on ebay ($500) but i would also like to be able to listen to a cd and have the map on the screen. I know this is possible in the escalades because of the separate changer, but i don't have that changer installed (at least not yet, i cant find the cable for it). Also, to anyone that had one of these installed previously, what is required at the dealer to clear the vin number and program my vin number to this radio. Now i'm concerned that it may be stole or something and it will be taken up. I just don't want to get in any trouble.

you dont need to rewire anything. everything is plug and play. once you plug in the fm antenna it will work. as long as you dont disconnect the fm modulator that feeds the signal to the radio

Did you get that navi put in yet? i have one with part number 15800000 and am not sure if it is a lux or non lux.

It is non-lux. 15800001 is for lux.

I just ordered an 06 Touch Screen Nav unit for my 03 off ebay, part#15800001 and everything works fine. It was a virgin unit that came with the GPS antenna and the 06 4.1 nav disk. Plug it in and everything worked fine.

I actually pulled my whole unit out of my 2005 escalade. Navigation head unit, bose subwoofer, cd changer and all the speakers. Let me know if you are interested and what pieces you need.
