    Brake Light Issue

    Hey guys:
My rear lamps all work. Running lamps work, turn signals also work both left and right....HOWEVER, only the driver side brake lights work, Third light works.
Passenger side brake lamps do not work. Obviosuly not the bulbs or the fuse.
    ANY IDEAS?
    Thanks

    Re: Brake Light Issue

I can remember having this same issue about a year or so ago...it was suggested that the contacts might be dirty on the connector which is located on the rear passenger quarter panel towards the rear. I took a look at it, and it was pretty dirty on the outside. There are 4 sets of wires that attach to that connector. Does anyone one know which color connector is the one for the passenger side brake lamps???
Nice to see there are alot of new people on here......lots of new names. Where are all the old guys?????sk7 always seem to be fun of info...you still around?
Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise I risk getting a ticket :-(
    THANKS

Does anyone know much about the four sets of wires that go to the junction box for the rear lights?
I am assuming that one set is a feed....
One set maybe for trailer lights???
anyone know which of the four controls the brake lights for the passenger side??
    THANKS

    Re: Brake Light Issue

Well....thank you sooooo much for this great information.....as always!!!
I took all of the 4 connectors off (they were very dirty) I sprayed some electronic cleaner spray on all the terminals on the connector terminals and on the junction block.
Put them all together and everything worked fine.
    THANK YOU!!!!!
Too bad GM never made a cover to better protect that connector plate.
This is the second time in two years I has a problem with that same plate.
    Anyway...for now all is good.
ON TO THE NEXT PROBLEM lol

    Re: Brake Light Issue

I agree the location for that junction box is not great! Right behind the rear tire, and no protection whatsoever! Had to pry off tar and 5yr old mud off of mine when I was hunting for the ALC-SCM problem.
