Thanks Falko' !!

OK here goes the latest......we had a nice fiberglass roll pan for over a year and its finally "that time".....well this thing is huge.....doesnt fit. Goes to an older caddy i guess so now its like do we finish the project and leave the bumper on or do what we gotta do to find a roll pan that fits. Well apparantly there isnt one, even FBI doesnt have one....but they will. I went over their on my lunch break and they liked the direction the caddy is goin and decided to kick me (us) down a roll pan for free. The big boss said bring it down, pull the bumper and leave it there for a few........they will measure, design, and fabricate one for it all on the house

So that leads me to this new set of pictures....

Just got me a new Impact.....love it!

battery rack was welded to the frame of the truck and also a few beads found their way to the steel on the tow hitch (woops) so i had a choice.....cut my welds off and sacrifice the strength of the rack or just cut the tow hitch off and leave all the welds intact.....

tried to use my 4 1/2" cut off dics to remove it but all it did was throw sparks and was a pain to get a good angle so time to break the Sui-Saw out..(sawzall)

Re: CROCODILE INTERIOR.. "PICS "

throwing sparks next to (4) 2150's is scary and the Sawzall made none.......in fact it cut it off like butter

Ok tow hitch off finally!

Re: CROCODILE INTERIOR.. "PICS "

now for the fun part.....dont laugh this is just so i can get a perspective on how a pan will look before i take it to the next step and cut the frame on the caddy once and for all. I decided to make a cardboard roll pan so i can see how its going to look. Notice the frame "rails" where the bumper slides in sticks out past where the roll pan will be. Those will get whacked as well once i have an ACTUAL roll pan in my hands. Its scary stuff butchering an expensive ride like this.

Re: CROCODILE INTERIOR.. "PICS "

I didnt realize how much the bumper and tow hitch hid the battery rack so it does show a little with the "fake pan" on there. I plan on making a cover for the batterys so anything that does show will at least be clean. It will be made out of either:

A. Billet Aluminum / Aluminum Flatstock

B. Stainless Steel

C. Either of the above ^^^ but painted to match the truck when finished.

Im waiting for the sun to come out so i can head over and have this thing officially measured up. Its been raining for a week and i dont want to put any "road film" on his car....this is the LAST thing im doin to the caddy (that i know of) before it goes home!

BTW the REAL roll pan will be boxed out to hold a license plate so it will look a little differnt then what you see.......and it wont be brown It will also be welded/seamless like the one on my Tahoe so it should look super clean (i hope)

UPATES AS I HAVE THEM of course

Re: CROCODILE INTERIOR.. "PICS "

Aren't you going to have a lot of problems with those batteries in the rear? Especially when it rains. Or will this be a trailer/garage queen?

MAN THAT IS JUST SICK! I had a hell of a time with my rollpan in my last truck. I had to custom fab a hitch behind the license plate to could be used when you folded it down...
Your ride is really something to behold!

Thumbs up Re: CROCODILE INTERIOR.. "PICS "

If you don't mind me asking , what's your day job ?
You seem to make a lot of cash to put in this truck.

It's real nice too. I'm in sac too, where can I get some custom Interior work done? Nothing like yours, but at least some suede stuff.

Thanks

Its not his ride. He is doing all the work inside it. I'm sure he can get the interior work done for you. Or I can get you a deal with a buddy of mine who Elite Motorsportz.

What kind of problems could i have with the batterys? They arent in the fender wells so they arent getting BLASTED with water.....even if they did get wet its no big deal. Oh ya, did i forget to mention i was going to make a Stainless or Aluminum cover for the batterys anyway :P

Beside that, it will be a garage queen im sure..........will be drivin on good days of course but rainy shitty days werent made for white suede Wont be a trailor queen, it will be driven to any show we take it to i dont care how far away it is.

Good deal! Thats a smart idea to enclose the batteries. My airpumps and compressors always get "blasted" with water in the rain. Just from water spittin off the wheels and puddles. I had to replace my airpumps for my bags about a while ago when it was raining. Oh well... can't wait to see this thing completed.
