I spent most of the day sanding the rear peice and fastening the box to the "shroud" that sits in front of it. It took time to seal the cabin from the rear of the truck as well. After that i turned the system on to see how it sounded finally completely sealed off and i noticed the box was flexing in the area of that front "chamber" where all the subs were facing. Well everything i planned had to be put on hold while i fiberglassed the entire top with 3 layers of this super thick mat i usually use. Now its very strong.
First things first, had to use these 20ga steel brackets i made at work to hold the shroud firmly against the box. I planned on just screwing it to the front but i couldnt even get my angle drill in there so i had to improvise.
Time to start sealing it all off.....damn wires in the way
A little strip of foam stuffed into a crevice and dynamatted over |

I found a spot for the rear view cam.......well i made the spot i found anyway There was a gap between the back window and the shroud that needed to be taken care of so i decided to handle both these tasks at the same time.
Here is an old pic to show where the gap used to be.
Here is the process, one piece at a time......I started off with 1/4" masonite |

"PICS " I hate people that come here and bash other peoples stuff, if you dont like it dont say anything, if you like it then feel free to say so. I think that its bad-ass, I probably would not do it to my own car, because its not my style, but it is cool anyway, and I understand that quality costs money, yes he could have had it done cheeper, but why would a guy with the line-up of vehicles he has (and therfore the large investment) do anything half-assed, screw the critics, your ride is most worthy. |
