I agree about needing the onstar. Sort of peace of mind when my wife is on the road.

I am a cop and while i have the safety of being able to carry a gun not everyone has that comfort of having some piece of mind.. We just had an incident recently where a husband and wife were fighting and he was threatening her and when he wasnt looking she hit the emergency button and it connected to onstar and the rep heard him screaming and immediately notified police of the matter with the location of the car.. Turned out to be nothing more than an argument but imagine if the person wasnt her husband.. idk.. I know im rambling now.. The idea and concept is great.. Just wish that it would keep the emergency button or possibly make it where there is a switch available so that if you have it flipped one way all regular onstar functions are available and if flipped the other it disengages onstar for phone use.. just an idea..
Yup, I agree. A switch from Galaxy1000 to Onstar would be ideal!

We are set to release it with our new unit that will be compatible with the newer vehicles. It is in final testing now, hopefully won't be much longer.

Just a quick note, I want to thank everyone for your purchases, I'll be amending the installation instructions to include a note to turn up the bluetooth volume on the phone. I wanted to post it out here first. The volume on the phone should be set to the highest level you can then trim it back with the radio volume control.

    Thanks again,

    Fred

So you are saying it will not be compatible with 2006 and earlier Escalades?

I do want to add that while we feel we can add it no problem it is not 100% certain, more like 99%.
So, are you going to make one compatible with 2006 and earlier?

Our current unit is compatible with the 2006 and earlier years now.

Just go to http://www.galaxy1000.com/products.php and check your compatibility of your vehicle, but if it's a 2004 you're good to go.

I have a 2004. But I want to be able to use the steering wheel to make and answer calls. I was under the impression that a new release would indeed do that and was curious as to availability for that.

We will be releasing that with our new box. It will be available at that time on the box that will work for your vehicle as well as to all of our customers as a no charge update.

Our engineer has encountered quite a few issues with the newer vehicles, we just do not want to release a product that has problems.

    I'm sorry for the delay,

    Fred

How's it coming with the de-bug? I'm really looking forward to the complete system with the steering wheel control. Has anybody done the music streaming through the bluetooth? I was wondering how the sound quality was.
