Air shocks won't deflate

Remove this ad
I have a service ride control message and it appears the shocks are at full extension on my 03 Escalade. I did a search on this and found just the opposite of my problem.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Re: Air shocks won't deflate

Does the compressor try and cycle when you start the truck? Sounds like the exhaust solenoid is not letting the pressure drop, maybe the solenoid itself is stuck.

Re: Air shocks won't deflate

Compressor never cycles at start up. Where is the exhaust solenoid?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Air shocks won't deflate

That's a first allright! The system is not completely leak free, so after sitting overnight, suspension must be at zero pressure. I don't recall a code for too much pressure in the system, but when you first start up the truck in the morning, compressor must run for a long time? There is a trouble code if the compressor runs for a set lenght of time without any change in the ride height. Solenoid exhaust valve and pressure sensor are build into the compressor assembly, behind rear tire left side. Since the compressor is working, exhaust solenoid must be ok. Its either a no signal from the pressure sensor or the level sensors at the SCM. All 3 are 0-5V reference and can be easily tested at the SCM.
