Looks like we have a lemon...

My father has been plagued with this weird problem that the dealership has been unable to fix now on the 4th time. The truck is apparently going into "abuse mode" as the tech called it for no apparent reason. They have erased the codes and downloaded new software for the computer, and the truck will last maybe a month, and then it comes back. Two days ago, while coming up a hill, my father couldn't accelerate past 40 mph, and at the start of the hill he was doing 65... So, I guess he is thinking about waiting for the 2005 EXTs, since his is a 04. The funny thing is the dealership doesn't have any 05's on the lot, yet they gave him an enterprise loaner, which is a 05 escalade. They said enterprise gets the newer trucks before them!

It's probably a sensor of some sort, but how many are there? Dozens?

We're supposed to be advancing technologically, but this is kind of like those old-style Christmas tree lights--one bulb blows and the whole string fails.
