    Remote Start on 2002 Escalade

I want to put remote start on my truck; I heard some dealers were installing it. What is the best kit/brand for the 2002 Escalade.

Thanks for the reply. I would also like to know how it works with the power seats, mirrors, lights/unlock options (any problems) when turning on the car from afar. Do you use a new remote? Also, I'm not familiar w/ that shop

Most dealers know carry a remote start. I think they wanted $300 at my dealer installed. You still use the same remote as the factory they just program it into your transmitter. And its all covered under warranty.

I have it on my 2004. Works with the regular remote. I'm very pleased with it.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try to negotiate w/ my local dealer soon. The Aftermarket stuff is probably cheaper, but I want to use that factory remote.

I'm a big fan of the Compustar.

Nice to see the status of your vehicle: locked, unlocked, started, whether or not the alarm has been set off and on what part of the vehicle.

Well, my dealer says thay don't offer it and never heard of it?? Great! I just want the Remote Start, not the Alarm. Is this possible, and how much??

Re: Remote Start on 2002 Escalade

DONT GET COMPUSTAR... I got the 2wss with that 1.5 mile radius and the remote start was horrible. It would only start if the car felt like it, and sometimes the security light would come on inside the car while you are driving. And once you drop the remote it will never work the same. I had to go back to the shop I got it done at many times and they installed a prestige alarm instead and I am happy with the prestige because it actually works. The Viper is another good alarm. The compustar is only good for manual vehicles.

Re: Remote Start on 2002 Escalade

I was told the 2WSS was junk even though they are the higher end unit.

I've had my 2WFM for about a year in my F-150 with no complaints except for a faulty remote (my fault ) which was replaced under warranty.
