Is there a way with a VIN to find out what options where fitted from the factory when the truck was new?

I know the last thing you probably want to do is join another forum.... but on dieselplace.com they have a special section where you can post your vin and get the original build sheet. its pretty darn cool... |

It basically was the same info that is printed on the sticker in the glovebox compartment. Ewill3rd would know if this kind of information is still available from the dealership. |

Looking at pictures of salvage trucks, I really wanted a sunroof on mine and I was sure they all came standard with one, till I saw one on ebay without! Its hard to tell from pics sometimes... Having the info available would have been nice. I did get my sunroof on my 02, would have been a lot less trouble if it didnt have one afterall! Good luck. |

You can utilize that to determine RPO codes and factory options.
Post up the last 8 and someone can get the data back to you.
