Free rims and dropped it 4"/5"

This is my 04 Escalade, 6.0 AWD. I've slowly been piecing my suspension together. Finally got it all together, and installed it over the weekend.

    For the front:

3/4 Ton Keys in Front 1" to 3" Lower
    Bilstein shocks f4-be5-6500-h0
    Eibach Sway Bar
    McGaughy's 2" Drop Spindles

    For the rear:
Airlift Inner Spring Rear Helper Bags
    Bilstein shocks f4-be5-6501-h0
    Belltech 5" Rear Coil Springs
    Belltech Rear Shock Extenders
DJM 3/4" Urethane Rear Bump Stops
    DJM Free Travel Mod
    Eibach Sway Bar

To bypass the factory air suspension, I just disconnected the battery, pulled the RTD (Real Time Dampening) fuse under the hood, and everything works fine.

ALSO, last week, some guy offered to trade me my stock 17's for his 20's, so I did. I don't really care for them, but they'll do for now until I get my 07-09 Escalade OEM 22's. They are the Boss 315's with 275/55/20 tires.

    Anyways, onto the pics...

The rear should come down a little bit more once the springs settle. The front I had to raise up an inch or so because it was rubbing bad, but it's nice to know I can go lower. The front sway bar I purchased was for the 07-09 body style (bought set off craigslist, rear was correct) so I'm selling it and have the correct bar on the way. Blacking out my rear tail lights and 3rd brake light over the next few days.

Let me know what ya think...

Re: Free rims and dropped it 4"/5"

Very nice! I like the look of the OEM front grill painted black, I'm gonna try that on mine, the gray is starting to show some age. Won't upgrading to 22's cause more rubbing issues? Those 20's look great. I wanted to upgrade to 20's, but I find the ride harsh enough with the factory 17's. Roads here are bad...

If i go to a lower profile tire, it should be fine. I'm thinking like a 285/35/22 or something...

Looks good! That wont harm the AWD system? I know when I used to slam my acura integras the axles would click after a few months and it was a pain changing them.

See my thread about the painted step pads. You can make those plastics look brand new (not ugly gray) for about $8.... I painted mine SEM black about 2 months ago and they held up great so far!

AWD should be fine. Others have been doing the same thing for years and never had a problem

With a McGaughys 2/3 spindle drop you can keep the air ride. I may go that route once my issues are solved with the air ride.

    +1

Just do the 2 inch drop spindles and the 3 inch springs in the rear with shock extenders. You should be fine with the factory air ride suspension

Will my 24s be a problem?

samhamm did the 2/3 drop with 24" .... I'd imagine you'd have to trim a small amount of the splash guards... or you may get away with it with the right offset and right size tires

The offset would be the key to not rubbing with 24's. I had 24's on my tahoe with a 2/3 drop (only keys up front and springs shock extenders in the rear) and never rubbed, even at full turning lock...
