Cracked exaust tip.

I noticed yesterday that my stock exhaust tip is cracking. My 'Lade is a 2006 with 70K/Km. Anyone else have this problem?

Still under warranty. I hope this is covered...

PS: The fact that my exhaust has "hair" is because I whipped it off quickly with a rag for the pictures. Seems the rag has lots of fibers! *lol*

No impact damage

and what looks like a stress fracture.

Re: Cracked exaust tip.

Honestly your better off dealing with it because the only way to fix it is to replace your ENTIRE exhaust.... and since its a straight through design, they are going to cut it off and weld it, ruining the straight through perfection! I rather deal with a small stress crack than knowing my exhaust was welded halfway through....

i first saw the picture (without reading the text first) and was like "jeeeez i better tell this guy there's a squirrel living in his muffler!"

Re: Cracked exaust tip.

Whatever the part is, they claim its $750 to replace it. Would this not be the who cat back?

Re: Cracked exaust tip.

for $750, its gotta just be everything after the cat.... its unfortunately all one piece.... they will cut it and re-weld it. GM started making exhausts with a one piece design, which is smart, but if you want to replace it, you pretty much have to cut it off. Unless you want to go through the trouble of taking the drive axle down, possibly the gas tank, etc......
