    fog light lens melted

The pictures are kind of hard to see but I'm using a blue lens blub 50w and its melting my fog light housing. Its not a temperature blub just standard bulb with blue tent, I was trying to get fog lights to some what match head lights. What do I do, how much is it to replace the fog light housing and has anyone else have this problem.

    Re: fog light lens melted

I had HID's in my stock fog light housings on my 2003 and had no issues over the 3 years I had it, but I have seen on other GM Forums owners reporting the same issue you have, some of the overseas bulbs are higher wattage than stated because they coat them, the problem is they cause a lot of heat issues

What can I do to keep this from happening again, what if I want to install HID's. will it catch a fire? I dont know what to do, is there a glass lens that I can replace it with?
