How to remove grille - Escalade 99-00

I will be replacing my exisiting grille with a DJ motorsport replacement grille. First, I need to know how difficult it is to remove, if there's a step by step instruction on the net or if someone can walk me thru it.

I want it to look like this after it's finish (taken from someone's site)

its pretty easy, but time consuming.

this is what i did for my carriage works billet grille:

    1. take off the grille shell. there are bolts in the middle of the grille, behind the corner lights, and on top (under the hood).

    2. hacksaw or dremel the middle grille out. then sand or dremel the remaining edges down flat.

you'll now have something like this:

    3. then put the new grille into place to find where you need to drille the mounting holes. drill those holes and screw the new grille in.

    4. enjoy your new grille.

Sounds like a lot of work, How long would you say?? 3, 4, 5 hours max? I hate to cut the existing grille, but I guess I have to. So your saying, first cut out the middle sections of the existing grille, but keep the plastic lip that hold the middle section in place?

Just recieved the grille today and I'm looking to install it this weekend. Waiting for the emblem to show up.

mine took probably 4 hours because i didn't have the right attachments for my dremel. ya, cut out the bars and leave the un-chromed lip. my grille attaches to the lip with 8 small screws: 4 top, 4 bottom.

Thanks Bro, I'll give it a try tonight, so anxious to get started...decided not to wait til the weekend....... Also, planning to attach the rear emblem, like the one on the 02-04 models, except the hole for the keyhole, I'll be adding a rearview camera inside it.

I put my rearview camera in the bumper. Works great, and the white backup light illuminates the area behind me nicely at night.

You dont got to hacksaw the grill out. The plastic part of it is held in with metal clips. all you have to to is bend those back and pop the middle plastic part out.

I was thinking the same thing when I was looking at it. I was trying to avoid cutting if all possible. Is this what you did to your grille?

Here's the back side of the grille I'm still trying to install.

I've decided to wait til fri to install. What do you think?

Acutally, it required cutting out the mesh out and the new one had to be riveted in, a pretty tedious job. It took some time to dremel it out, to make it look clean.
