Rear Air Shocks Easy

just replaced both of my rear air shocks with OEMs. 420 bucks for both rear shocks on ebay. the dealer wants 2000 i heard? wow. easiest job ever. rides like a dream now. i advise everybody that ever has to get theyre shocks replaced to do it themselves!

Yea ive been wanting to do it too, Got any pics of the job? What ebay vendor did you get them from?

didnt take pics it was like 90 degrees out but its pretty simple and straight foward, 2 bolts, disconnect air lines, support the axle and truck.

Great deal! I paid $440 canadian each for Monroe's, which are identical to the OEM shocks, which were $900 each. Monroe's have a lifetime waranty, OEM's dont!

Hi guys.....I'm the nebe on the block!

I was able to snag the last set of rear shocks avaialbe for my 05 Escalade!

Now the question is....where do we get the fronts at a reasonable price!

OMGoodness, the dealer wants almost $500 each, and they do not even come with a lifetime warrantee!

So any sugestions where I might get a set of front for a decent $$$, please let me know.

I'm looking into getting some rear shocks myself, I need some instructions on the installation part, sorry I'm a newbie at GM vehicles. Anyone wanna help?

1. Jack up truck from the side frame rails and put on jack stands
2. Place jack on pumpkin of rear end to get bolt holes on shocks mounts to align
3. Remove top and bottom bolt of shock
4. Unplug autoride wires and air line
5. replace, reverse instructions

Should take you no more than and hour...

I'm due for shocks come spring I think, Outta make it ride alot smoother. The 24's take a toll on the suspension I'm sure!

Depending on the vehicle installation can be really easy.
Actually it is only usually hard when you have to fight corrosion or the shaft on a shock starts spinning when you try to remove the nut.
Escalades can be easy but there are factors that can make it pretty hard.

I am going through the same problem, but dont know which brand of shocks to use,iheard strutmaster has got a set of four for about $600 and plus bucks,what would anyone reccomend.thanks
