02 escalade a/c contol unit not lighting up

hello im new to the forum, i have a 02 escalade and the a/c control unit is not lighting up but it is working any one have an idea wwhat it might be?

If it is the digital one then the corvettes had the same problem but more prevalent.Read on the vette boards and you'll see how to fix it Corvette forum.com.It takes some solder work but a local TV repair place did mine for $10.

'02 had the knobs. It is lit up by plain old incandescent bulbs, and they don't last forever. It's either bulbs or a bad connection.

Hey you should mod the unit and put in Green LEDs or something - that is if you are into stuff like that hehe

- I am very much into electronics down to circuit board level and I was thinking about changing all those green lights inside to blue led type incl. the dash but I dunno yet if I want to start modding it like that - that's what I have the custom car for lol.

thanks i was told by the dealer the unit was sealed and the bulbs couldnt be changed is this true?
