what kind of Oil does the Escalade use?

Hey there, I was wondering what kind of oil does the escalade use? I have seen people say that they have Mobil 1, but I checked under my hood today only to find that it isn't mobil 1 (oil is still yellow though). I have the 2004 Ecalade 2WD, but I can remember people saying that the 2004 Escalades use mobil 1.

    Whats the deal?

Since day 1 I use only Mobil 1 10w-30 or if not Royal Purple 10W-30.

Oh, and since were I live we have Arizona climate almost all year round I change my oil every 2000 miles. I drive like you stole it, but I also take care like I own it

For filter I use K&N part number HP-2006, the KN part number list will tell you to use HP-1007 but I rather use the HP-2006 because it is a little bigger, and fits perfectly well.

Your Caddy comes with regular motor oil, many people including myself run synthetic oil, I use Amsoil, but any synthetic is much better that regular motor oil

i have a friend taht owned a subaru WRX and when he asked the dealer if they can use synthetic, they said not to use synthetic until you have atleast 5,000-7,000 miles cause anything under that, the synthetic is gonna messup all the seals and they also said if your vehicle didnt come with synthetic you dont need to use it.

you don't NEED to use synthetic oil in any vehicle, but it will definately extend the vehicles life and reduce wear and friction in any component that you use it in. many high performance cars such as corvette, porsche and others come from the factory with mobil one in the crankcase and synthetic gear lubes in differentials and transaxles. some feel that its good to break in with regular oil and then switch to synthetic others say it doesn't matter if you switch right away. i've done it both ways and had no problems either way. mobil has recently came out with a high mileage version of mobil one to use in older vehicles-this version has special additives to help old seals and gaskets resist leaking as the synthetics are highly detergent and tend to desludge older engines which at times can cause leaks on old gaskets and seals that had failed but hadn't leaked because there was enough sludge sealing them. you can extend mileage intervals with synthetics but not too much longer as additives may still break down. i still stick to the 3000 mile schedule, figuring its just cheap insurance, plus you always get some increase in gas mileage to help offset the cost. my favorite for gear and trans synthetics is redline products they are absolutely awesome. they are so slippery that i've had manual trans with weak synchro's that redline has made run like brand new for another 50k. also use redline's fuel injector cleaner and their water wetter for cooling systems. i even use mobil one in my john deere riding lawnmower and in my shop air compressor(highly reccomended by the manufacturer). synthetics are the only way to for these 50k plus vehicles!

Where do you guys get your amsoil? I have not seen it anywhere around. It's time for another oil change and I only want to put the best in my truck.
