2005 Escalade AC compressor cutting out

When driving the compressor will shut off and warm air will start blowing. If I turn the compressor back on, the air gets considerably hotter. So far it's happened twice in the last week or so. It won't kick back for the rest of that trip, but after the truck sits overnight the AC works fine the next day. Time for a new compressor? Don't supposed that's covered under the "certified" used warranty huh? God knows the $500 headlight wasn't.

It maybe low on freon (sp) , if the level is low the compressor will turn off to protect it from overheating and failing. After is sits a while it will work again, get the freon checked, that will tell you what the problem is.
