I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

I have searched for past threads and only found a couple about hid's. Can anyone tell me about the install, difficulty, and do I need a conversion kit? I think I read that hcvone installed some but couldn't remember if it was for fogs or headlights. Reversing wires was another issue I read. Help me out guys.

Re: I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

I purchased mine from www.pilothid.com Install is super easy, just need to mount the ballast that comes with the lights. PilotHID gives you everything you need, even zip ties and screws to mount the ballast. You do need to reverse the two wires, blue and black. You will know if you turn them on and nothing happens, then you need to reverse. Basically, if you are looking at the front of the existing wiring harness with the clip part down the blue wire will go on the left and the black wire will go on the right. I will do my best to take pictures of my install today for you after I wash my truck.

Re: I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

with HID's the higher you go in degrees K, the less light output you get, depends on where you do the majority of your driving, if you are 95% city then you can go with any color you want, but if you are in the country much, i wouldnt go over 8k, 6k is ideal

Re: I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

I went with 4300K to match my factory HID. The color from pilot and factory are just a bit different but only someone looking for it will notice. If you want your truck to look factory I would stick with the 4300.

I just used zip ties to mount the ballast to the frame under the truck, but, remember, I did my fog lights, my head lights were already HID. You can mount the ballast just about anywhere, they are pretty small, I would guess 2.5 inches by 3 inches and about an inch deep.

Re: I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

****I just ordered them and found a $25 coupon code. Enter TBSSowners in the customer code box. Then enter "notax" in the tax box(only Texas pays tax). So I paid a mere $125.00 and you can get a $10 rebate if you send in pics. I'll send pics of b4 and after.

Did you get these at www.pilothid.com? I just tried your coupon code and it was invalid.

It is an easy conversion, I put HID's in my high beams and fogs in my 03' Escalade, worked great for 3 years.

Re: I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

I am now online about to order for my 05 Escalade ESV

9005 - 8000K conversion kit
880 - 8000k conversion kit

I have both sites up and and my cart but here is the price difference

pilothid.com - total is $379.98
Xenoneyes.com - total is $250.00

Does anyone know if one is definitely better than the other?

I have read a great deal about pilothid are great but have not seen any feedback about xenoneyes!

Anyone have any thoughts before I click checkout on my order.

Thanks

Producerman

I use Pilot HID's for both my trucks (2002 and 2004). They look awesome and I highly recommend that to anyone.

As for xenoneyes.com, i never used their bulbs or ordered from them, so I cant help you on that one, sorry.

Anyways, if you have a 2005 Escalade, then you should have stock HID's for your low beams already. All you need to get are the bulbs. D1R/D1S/D1C 8000K.

You could always pull your headlights out and check the bulbs before you order. The bulbs look like this.

DO NOT get the 9005 kit! Those are for the non-hid vehicles, like the 2002 Escalades.

Re: I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

So just to clarify before I go and order the wrong thing. On the PilotHID.com site. All I need to do is order the 9005 (and then whatever temperature I want) for my 02 escalade and everything will work correctly?

Re: I need Info on Xenon headlight hid install 02' lade

Yes, that is correct. The 02 was a non HID and this kit will make them HID. I have not done a head light install so I cannot give pointers on that, I have only added HID fogs to mine as my headlights are factory HID.

Good luck with install!
