The proper reset is to have the truck on, turn the temp control all the way to cold. Turn the truck off. Pull the HVAC 1 fuse (panel on the drivers side of the dash, top front fuse). Turn the ignition key to run. Leave the key on for at least 1 minute. Turn the key off and put the fuse back in.
The important part is to turn the truck to cold before you do any reset. That way, your reseting it in the correct position.
It's just as easy to disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes and reconnect the battery.
They all basically do the same thing.
I was doing the reset for a month or so before I went ahead and replaced it. I could tell the actuator was going out because I could keep resetting it, but it would continue to happen. |
