The STOCK HID bulbs I believe are PHILIPS (NOT PILOT)..
So if you can, try finding the 4300K Philips to have a complete match.
I am unsure of how the Philips low beams will match with Pilot Fogs. See what i'm saying?
Anyways, just make sure for your foglight to get the "Plug and Play" H.I.D. kit which comes with the Ballast. It will have less heat, so it wont melt anything. | Thanks! I did order the kit with the Ballast. Where did you mount yours under the truck. What did you use, could you take a pic and post it? Are they waterproof? |

The install is VERY simple! Its just plug and play. If you bought the kit from Pilot or wherever, most of them comes with instructions.
The kit usually comes with a metal bracket that you can mount the ballast to. I did NOT use that, because I could not find anywhere to drill to mount that bracket!
So instead, I just went with the easy way!! I went out and bought a pack of very thick zip ties!!! I then zip tied the ballast to the frame of the truck.. Just look underneath the front bumper by your foglights and you should be able to find places where you can zip tie the ballast to.
Once zip tied, make sure the ballast is on tight, where it wont wiggle when you hit a bump while driving, etc. Then you should be all set. I tucked the wires away as much as I can. I live in the Northwest where it rains 70% of the time, and so far no problems whatsoever.
Get the kit! Once you go H.I.D's, you'll never go back!
Look at the difference.

Izzy, from what I understand is that it will not put out any more heat than a regular bulb, the heat is created in the ballast, DLE - correct me if I am wrong. |

Izzy:
The Pilot is a brand name. NOT the Honda Pilot. You can get the bulbs at www.pilothid.com.
This is the foglight kit I bought. http://www.pilothid.com/pihidkih130.html. I got the 8000k. (you can choose different color of course). Check out their website and gallery. You will see example of colors before you buy a set.
Also, as for heat, it will produce less heat than the halogen bulbs, so no it will NOT melt anything.
I copied and paste this from their website.
HID, High Intensity Discharge, refers to lighting technology that relies on an electrical charge to ignite xenon gas in a sealed bulb, similar to the lightning phenomenon in the sky. HID lighting does not have a filament but instead creates light by igniting an electrical discharge between two electrodes in an air tight tiny quartz capsule filled with xenon gas. HID lighting are also called Xenon lighting, referring to the gas inside the bulb.
HID lighting improves durability by 10 times as road vibrations can cause damage to halogen filament. These light sources also produce a blue-white light that is safer because it is closer to natural daylight. The color temperature is more than 5000K compared to 2300K for halogen. The light output from a 35W HID Xenon lamp is 300% more light than a 55W halogen bulb. The HID Xenon system will also consume much less power from your vehicles electrical system and generate much less heat during operation.
Bottom line, HID headlights provide better visibility than ordinary halogen bulbs. |

I am currently using the Pilot 8000K D1R/D1S low beams, and Pilot 8000k 880 fogs...
Perfect match and looks awesome at night!
You guys can of course use different colors. I prefer the whitesh/bluish look.
DONT FORGET to adjust the headlights/foglights once you install the bulbs, or else you'll get oncoming traffic flashing at you!
Best way to adjust is to park on a FLAT road or driveway facing a wall or garage door! Then adjust the low beams with a Torx 'star' screwdriver, and your hands for the foglights. |

DLE - quick install question for you. what the heck do I do with the black and blue wires that have the metal tabs on the end, the are right by the bulb. I do not see where to plug those things in. I can attach a picture of it if you need me to. Thanks for your help! |

I think I figured it out, those two wires should plug into the existing wires for the fog lights, that way it will power the ballast which will power the light, does that sound right. It doesn't seem that there is a good way to make those two have a waterproof seal, do you do it with that black boot that is around those two wires plus the two that go to the bulb. |
