    Re: escalade 2002 URPA

Maybe a stupid question, but is it activated?
Not sure about the 02's but my 06 has a button on the dash to turn that function on or off.

I had mine at the dealer shortly after purchase for some other reason and told the service adviser the backup function was not working.
He pushed the switch to activate it and I felt pretty dumb.

Did you check the plug connector under the rear bumper?

In this case it looks like there is NO light so I would guess it is a fuse or a relay... or worse a bad wire somewhere.

    URPA
    Where are the fuse(s)/relays?
I own a ‘01 STS. The URPA has not worked since my purchase. Single, flashing red light and no audio. I removed the bumper cover and visually inspected each unit. Wires, clips, harness, sensor's; all appear in good shape. At the salvage yard, I purchased one sensor. The left, turn/brake light lens is damaged so I figured if a sensor was damaged, more than likely it would be the one closest to that lens.
I removed that sensor and installed the salvage yard unit hoping it was in good working order. After replacing that unit I connected the wiring harness, applied the bumper cover, started the car and dropped it into reverse. Now, I have no sensor light(s) whatsoever. I reinstalled the old sensor, applied the cover, back into reverse and still no sensor light(s).
I have a subscription with ALLDATA. There are protocols for a systematic troubleshooting, very lengthy process. Before I begin that timely process, I want to check the fuse(s) and/or relays. No where can I find this information. Not on ALLDATA, vehicles owner manual, on line….. HELP!
Thanks for any input. D~ Madison, WI.

You need to check all of your fuses it sounds like you have a fuse blown by the way it sounds but since you have been swapping out sensors so much you may have damaged the module.
