If you want to contact Luke (member Lindsay Cadillac Parts) and give him the radio part number and describe the buttons you want we can hook you up and I can give you instructions on replacing the buttons.
It really isn't that scary, you just have to be a little careful.

Please let me know how to remove the radio to find the part # and how to replace the buttons.
Thanks again! |

The cluster bezel has to come off, first tilt the column all the way down, now gently start on the upper edge and pull the bezel towards you. There are no screws or anything, just spring clips. Work the clips loose by pulling along the edge towards yourself. Once you have most of them released turn the key on, put your foot on the brake (set the parking brake) and pull the shifter all the way to manual first.
Release any remaining clips and tilt the top part of the bezel towards you and apply some slight pressure downward.
This will let you rotate the bezel out of the opening, then just lift it straight up and out once it clears the dash.
Set it someplace safe and be careful not to scratch the dash trim or steering wheel with the clips.
At this point you'll probably have to turn the hazard lamps off, usually this procedure presses the button and turns them on. Be sure to shift back to park. I make a habit of keeping my foot on the brake so the vehicle doesn't roll while doing the bezel.
Now you'll see the 7mm head screws that hold the radio in, just remove them and slide the radio out.
A word of caution, if it won't come out very far the antenna cable may be caught in the dash, don't yank on it!
I have seen this run the nav antenna lead. If you can apply light pressure and get it to come loose you'll be good. If not you'll need to do some more work to get the thing out.
Once you have it pulled out a little you can disconnect it if you want but just try to find the label and read the part number.
There are a few connections on the back, if you need to unplug the radio to get it out then you'll have to get them disconnected. I'll try to get some photos of how to do this.
Not sure if I have any Escalades in the shop right now but I bet one will turn up.
Assembly is pretty much just a reversal of the removal of these parts.
Let me know if you have issues or if you get the part number.
Digital photos are good.
I'll check back later. |

I just called my Cadillac Dealer (Red Noland of Colorado Springs, CO) They told me that I would not be able to get just the buttons that I would have to replace the entire unit. Is there any way that I can get the buttons shipped to me through another dealer? I saw you talking about that somewhat but who specifically do I need to contact. Also, some clwon scratched up my seat-cooling button as well as one of the buttons on the rear seat control unit. Ahh! Are these able to be replaced as well.
Thanks for all the help! |

Thanks so much for providing such wonderful info. You are a great resource on this forum
How are the buttons actually changed, once the unit is removed from the dash?
My Escalade is a 2005 ESV Platinum with touch screen nav unit. Are these buttons different than the 04's?
And one other question, can the steering wheel buttons be replaced also, and if so how are they replaced? |
