At speeds over 30ish, i am getting this super annoying rubbing noise from, what sounds like, the right rear quarters. You can only hear it if you are riding in the middle or back seats. The stock wheels have been replaced by 22" Vogue rims. Looking at them from the front of the car, they are a lot wider than the original ones. Could this be a problem? Also, when I took it in to be serviced, they said that the REAR breaks are worn 80%. Could this cause the noise? PLEASE help me. It is extremely annoying, and I feel like something is wrong. Thanks! |

Has the noise been there since the wheels were installed?

The brake sensors is a big possibility, as i think Firestone mentioned that when I had an inspection, but i didn't want to go replacing unneccessary parts. It's strange to me how the front brakes are worn 35%, while the rears are worn 80%, since the most pressure is on the fronts. Strange. Thank for your suggestion. |

I have 24 inch wheels on it as well. They finally found it, it was my rear wheel bearing or axle bearings that were making a rubbing sound when I sped up just as you are hearing. All this after they rebuilt my front diff new u joint rebuilt the rear diff, new front hub bearings new rear brake shoes and pads and rotors. It was almost 7 K in work and they couldnt find the noise until all of that was fixed then they finally found it. Thank God For Warranties! |
