Rear compartment mod

Just wondering where I can find this compartment piece or what the part # is for it. They come in the 2007 Escalades, and this weekend I was stuck in the 3rd row for a few hours on a trip, I noticed I had no where to put my ipod, cell phone, or wallet...therefore, I want to make a cut out on the passenger side 3rd row and put in this compartment. Does anyone know what is under this piece and if it is possible to make a cut-out? Thanks!

can't copy the picture, but you can find it on gm website under the 2007 escalade gallery, look at the picture where it shows how the 2nd row folds down, look behind that in the third row.

The rear passenger side has the heat and cooling equipment for the rear seat people.

Do you happen to know if there would be enough space, or if I can make enough space for a inch deep compartment?
