Signal Mirrors on my 02 Lade

Remove this ad
Hey all, what do you think of this deal I got for both sideview mirror glass (heated with signal) on E-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...1397628&rd=1,1

$165 shipped. Anyone else do the upgrade to the signal mirrors, how hard was running the wires to the turn signals? I'm looking forward to this upgrade, it not only looks good but good safety upgrade!

Re: Signal Mirrors on my 02 Lade

What the heck... were the signal mirrors standard equipment in the 03's or not?

Their product listing says "Standard 2003-04". Mine doesnt have them.

I thought they were stock on 2003s. Maybe pull the glass off and see if you have the extra wire in the housing for them?

Re: Signal Mirrors on my 02 Lade

Yea Im curious now. Wouldnt really surprise me if they were maybe stolen during the theft and then replaced with the standard 02 mirrors due to cost, but the wiring should be in there or at the pigtail on the truck if so.

Re: Signal Mirrors on my 02 Lade

If that's the case that would make for an easy swap, thats my biggest concern is the wiring aspect of it, if yours are already there you can plug in and be done. I'm having an alarm system installed in the next week or 2 so maybe I'll ask the installer to run the turn signal wires into the door and leave some slack so when I change the mirror glass I can just run it into the housing.

Exclamation Re: Signal Mirrors on my 02 Lade

you have to actually disassemble the entire mirror to do it properly, you need to run a power and ground through the actual motors then run them down the same loom that the other wires are in. if you dont run it through the motor, you will be forced to run the wire elsewhere and anywhere else the mechanism of the power fold mirror will snag and chafe the wire and eventually short out. once you get it through the motor and rubber door loom, then just go under the dash remove the knee pad if you have to and connect the left driver signal to the light blue wire in the orange harness all the way to the left and the right passenger goes to the royal blue wire in the same orange harness. seal it all up and your done. the orange harness im speaking of is directly in front of the diver and is part of a 3 or 4 harness box, the one all the way to the left is the orange harness.
