| Escalade Fuel System
I have a 2000 Escalade. There is a loud humming sound coming from the rear, whenever the key is ON, regardless of whether or not the engine is running. I'm guessing it's an electric fuel pump, either OEM or after-market. Has anyone experienced this? Is the OEM fuel pump mounted in the gas tank or externally, to the frame?
Also, the fjuel guage is wild and crazy, and unreliable. With the engine running, and the tranny in neutral (such as going through the car wash) the needle swings wildly from Empty to way beyond Full, and back again. This also happens when the car is sitting with the Tranny in Park. While driving, the needle stays more or less where it's supposed to be. Looks to me like a wiring problem orf some sort, but I can't trust the guage! Any suggestions - other than a new Dealer-installed in-tank fuel sensor? Thanks - Rotund Robert |
