Hit a pot hole with 22's

Remove this ad
Last night my wife hit a pot hole with her 22's & the tire now has a bubble on the side wall. It's not actually a bubble but more like a dent from the inside out the protrudes outward. What is it? Did she break a belt or bend a belt? I'm assuming I have to change it?

Re: Hit a pot hole with 22's

May have broke a belt or at least damaged it, just had a customer here 10 minutes ago that damaged both passenger wheels (24's) on his 07' Escalade, he put his stock 18's back on just a little late. See if you have any vibrations, may want to have a tire shop look at it. Roads are going to start getting bad with all the salt the put on the last few weeks, and starting to now warm up. That is the problem with large rim on bad roads.

Don't know where you are in Philly but if your near Welsh/Grant and Bustleton stop in Eppies and ask for Jay, have him look at it

Re: Hit a pot hole with 22's

take it to the dealer and don't tell them about the pot hole. More than likely they will replace the tire as defective. I think they would rather pay for a new tire than a law suit. I have seen a lot of brand new tires develop these bubbles, it is not really safe to drive because sooner or later the bubble will pop and you will have a sidewall blowout.

Re: Hit a pot hole with 22's

I purchased the tire and rim protection from the dealership. $399.00 Anything happens to the tire or rim they replace it, no question. Hit a pothole scraped up the rim and took it and and they replaced my 22, easy and quick
