He may of just been referring to production cycles and calling them lines. I didn't want to hear what he was saying back then but sure as shit he was right. He said don't buy one of these early builds, they always have problems. Wait till they start official production of the premiums come may. I personally think and know official production began back in March, but the vehicles built in March and April official or not are the ones now having airbag and other quality issues. He refers to these first builds as "spec cars". In guess technically that is what they are. They weren't built for existing customer orders they were built for dealer stock, similar to a spec homes. There was indeed a constraint on Premiums in March and April. He's wording may of been off but the results were the same. And we do now see luxury/premium hybrids just like he claimed also. Ie a vehicle originally built as a luxury that has some (or all) premium features added to it. One member in here has ACC on his luxury model.

UAW & GM you got to get the workers wearing uniforms !! I mean come on , there building Cadillacs and they are dressed as if there going to the gym. Just YouTube BMW , Porsche or MB factory tour videos and you tell me who you would rather buy a car from. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=651tZDw5iiE

Looking like a professional technician will improve quality and morale. Take a look at Porsche factory and notice workers

The new GM should institute a new policy immediately that has all workers wearing the coolest uniforms in the world . The way they look today with cut off sleeves, shorts etc screams out that they really don't care about what there doing and certainly don't care about quality.

I'm sure somewhere along the line the union fought for that right to wear whatever they want but they really should rethink that decision . again just watch the Porsche video or the BMW video or even other manufacturers whose workers look professional. UAW workers are dressed like my landscapers building $80,000 Cadillacs. Unacceptable on all counts .

I don't agree, corporate dress code is stupid. Wear whatever you want, your working in a production plant after all. I'd rather have my guys be comfortable in their own clothes. I read Mary Barra is the one who removed the 10 page GM dress code.

If she was smart she would put it back . Being on the production line your part of the team and much like a sports team you wear a uniform that reminds you that you are a professional , you have standards to live up to and that's why all the German companies and Japanese companies all have their workers wear uniforms. Who's quality is consistently better ??

Being forced to wear a uniform just breads animosity for the company and makes you feel inferior to upper level people that don't wear them. I don't think anyone feels like a professional wearing one, at least I never did. I just felt like a pawn. They should have uniforms, but they should be optional in my opinion. Unless you deal with the outside public there really is no need for uniforms. A sports team has them to tell them apart from the other team, and they are in public. Working in a private warehouse or factory it's already assumed that everyone inside works there.

UPS does the same thing. They wear uniforms in public but don't inside the warehouses. Ultimately it's not going to make one iota difference in the build quality of the vehicles either way. Better design, materials and equipment would be responsible for that, not the shirt the guy is wearing. You pro uniform guys are a bunch of commies, this is America man!

All that said, given they were releasing a public video they probably should of had a dress code that day.

True about the public really never sees the production line. Minus the Bowling Green Corvette tour. But, management does in fact wear uniforms , it's called a suit and tie. I have to wear a suit and tie as well and when I put it on it reminds me that I'm in work mode. If I wore a tank top shorts and flip-flops to work I would be more inclined to think about nonwork issues versus being dressed for business.

Perhaps a compromise Monday to Thursday they have the coolest uniforms and Friday's casual day... Of course you are correct that it is the engineering , materials used in construction and of course that needs to be of the highest quality no more shortcuts at GM !!

If comfort is the issue, why not wear loose scrub like uniforms. No belt buckle that can scrape the nice finish.

Has anyone successfully had the airbag issue resolved? Taking mine to the dealer tomorrow to check it out.
    Fingers crossed.
