I went to Moore Cadillac (Chantilly, VA) while waiting for a flight out of IAD this past Sunday. They had several 2015 Escalades listed, but naturally it was a ruse...
Anyway, I decided to get a good look at the two ELRs they had outside. I happen to be a little obsessive over details, but I noticed that BOTH of them had very poorly fitted gas doors. The door for the electric charging port was flush, but the gas door was strikingly poor. I could stand by the front of the car and notice the ill fit. One car was worse than the other, so it's not even a consistently poor fit. IIRC, it stuck out from the body more on the rear edge than the front. No, it was not left open.
One of them had ACC, and the housing that the emblem sits in has a poor fit to the grill. Looking down at it, you can see plastic tabs inside. Perhaps a thin rubber strip inside would have finished it off nicer?
Although a dealership issue, because they have no pride in their product / quality control, the front plate bracket was off center and flared out from the body, more on one side than the other!
Anyway, has anyone else noticed any of this?
Maybe it was a kit car?! Mine has none of those issues and was one of the first ones out. I must admit that I spend very, very little of the time in my life to actually decide whether or not my car "fits" but I do appreciate your comments and will make sure that my next ELR (should they continue) will not have the issues you mention.
