    Milestone! Or is it millstone?

Today, the first 3 ELRs with vins greater than 2000 have been listed on cars. So, GM's still cranking them out. It will be interesting to see at what point the highest vin seen stops going up every few days.

Unfortunately, the sales rate does not seem to be matching the build rate. We now have 1268 ELR vins listed on cars, with additions majorly outnumbering delistings. Here's a few other numbers:

194 are listed at $1000 or more below msrp
31 white (Saks editions) are still listed; was 32 a couple weeks ago
31 of the 1st 100 vins are still listed; was 32 a couple weeks ago
331 dealers now have ELRs listed, 20 of whom have 10 or more ELRs listed

My local dealer just got their first ELR, so it appears that GM is still filling the initial orders placed by those dealers who signed up to sell ELRs.

We're entering vicious circle time: very low sales vs availability encourages waiting for the price to fall. And the more people wait for the price to fall, the lower the sales until it does. And, IMHO, it's no longer a question of IF, it's a question of When.

Actually, my dealer just sold its second ELR. Supposedly the first dealer to do that. I enjoy the car every time I drive it. Comfort just keeps getting better as does the mileage on gas.

My dealer over here has already sold three as of 2 weeks ago. Don't let em fool you (unless my dealer is fooling me!)

My guy at Casa de Cadillac here in LA has said they have sold more than a few.

It's quite possible that GM is building all if its 2014 ELR inventory right now so that it can free up Detroit-Hamtramck for the Volt, Impala, or other car. If that's true, then at some point the ELR inventory should hit a ceiling and then slowly come down over the year.

Blast: You may be right. It would make sense especially with the lack of market advertising. I know that the ELR folks communicate with me about once a week about my car. I have 3500+ miles on it and it seems to be "seating" well. Considering the fact that it is a first year model, the problems have not been near as many as I have experience with other 1st year model cars I have purchased.
