    New phone icon?

Today I noticed a second phone icon on CUE which had a microphone rather than a phone receiver as its symbol. I opened it and Siri came up. My iPhone is paired via Bluetooth. Others have posted that Siri was not easily available using CUE. Is this a software update, or did I just overlook it? Is Cadillac or Onstar sending updates?

    Re: New phone icon?

It is indeed to control Siri. Other vehicles with the integrated "Siri Eyes Free" feature allow the driver to access Siri directly through a button on the steering wheel and have it interact a bit more with the car (instead of requiring you to go to the infotainment home screen, choose the microphone icon, and then press start in the ELR). In my experience, even using the microphone to activate Siri, it's horrible. Most of the time, Siri doesn't even recognize that I'm asking a question and just turns off. It's better sitting still or driving slow on city streets, and a lot worse at highway speeds. What's frustrating is that it makes no sense for Siri's voice recognition to be worse at highway speeds because the car is barely noisier inside the cabin! It's just an awful implementation of Siri, and I hope Cadillac improves it with a software update.

Compare that to my recent test drive of a Chevy Equinox with Siri Eyes Free - Siri understood me perfectly and responded appropriately every single time, no matter what the car's speed or road noise. And all I had to do was press a button on the steering wheel instead of navigate menus in the infotainment system. Cadillac should be ashamed of its terrible integration of Siri in its most expensive vehicle.

    Wow, not acceptable.
