    ELR purchase

Picked up my ELR today and am amazed at the feel, ride and response the car has. I have had some seat time with Tesla and I am much more impressed by the Cadillac than I
was by the Muskmobile. The Tesla interior is dated and the outside of the car looks like so many other sedans on the road that I often found myself thinking I was seeing other
Tesla's when, in actuality, they were other brands. Nice car for sure but not anywhere near the "statement" car that others are talking about. On the ride home I was amazed at how many people stare at the ELR and asked questions at stoplights and parking lots. They knew it was not a "standard" caddy design but many could not put their hand on the
difference but knew it was not like a standard CTS coupe. Car has great torque, handling and stopping. Engine is loud ONLY because the car is so quiet when on electric. Coming
from an EXT engine noise in the ELR is like a mouse walking across a piece of linen!

Love the car. Price was great after my dealer worked the numbers. Could not be happier with my purchase.

"Price was great after my dealer worked the numbers."

Are we talking lease or purchase?

Congratulations, cstegall, and welcome to the ELR club! I'd be interested to know if you have some of the same minor issues I've encountered, such as the screen not getting dim enough at night, the display not remaining turned off if the A/C is on, and manually changing to Night Mode not affecting anything.

Can the new concierge service help address issues such as these? I am hoping that they can work closely with ELR owners to get issues resolved quickly and effectively without a runaround especially at the prices they are asking!

Blast: For sure the purchase was a "unique" experience. The dealer I bought from is one of the largest, if not the largest, in the area. Certainly in the top 10% of all
Cadillac dealers and my car was the FIRST one sold! I have driven a lot of different cars and, at purchase, was coming out of an EXT into the ELR....so I had done a lot
of homework and certainly appreciated your insight and comments...actually using them during and right after the purchase. The only issues I have had with the car was a loose bolt next to the large Bose system in the back that caused a rattle when elevated bass was playing on the sound system. I had a minor problem with the car not clearing a foggy driver side window but that seems to have fixed itself (weather has been strange here). Rear camera is very good and the display at night really doesn't bother me since I am coming from an EXT that could literally light up an area of 10 yards around itself! The car has amazed me with the low end torque and the fact that you can really drive it with the paddles more than one thinks could be done. Brakes seem good but I will know more with seat time. As you have
stated, the cabin is eerily quiet and at my age the only problem I have is expecting to hear the transmission shifts...and they never come! I will be getting more highway time in the car in the coming few weeks and will update as I do. I can openly state that the ELR is not, in any obvious way, a Chevy Volt. There is always horizontal design and "borrowing" done within every automobile manufacturer and I was actually selling Cadillacs when the Cimarron was introduced and, believe it or not, I actually sold one. The ELR is not a rebadged Volt, as a matter of fact, I am extremely happy that the system in the ELR was moved horizontally from the Volt. Gives me a better feeling that I am less a pioneer and more of a settler with the ELR than I first thought. Is the car overpriced? Absolutely not. I enjoy the fact that there is not a current plan to put 8000 of these on the road this year. Most folks do not realize that it is an electric car until it tiptoes by them so I feel that I am actually driving an experience rather than the other way around....and for me, that is worth the extra dollars it took to buy the ELR.
Interestingly, most of the dealers that opted to spend the money to train the folks on repair and diagnosis of the car are just now getting up to speed so if someone buys one they need to verify that their local dealer can handle service and repairs without being lost like a goose in a hailstorm.

Sorry. My numbers may not be yours. But I can tell you that by the time I factored in the Federal Incentives, No cost 240v home charger and install, a couple of other reductions just because my dealer likes my smile...I ended up with a
number that I am extremely happy with. Coming from an '11 EXT with 60k on the odometer and an original msrp of $71k...the ELR was a very good deal. Is the ELR overpriced? Not once you do your deal. The dealers will not have many of these and when my deal was done I did feel that the store spent a lot of time making sure that I was happy with the numbers and had gotten all that I could out of the deal. This is my 4th Cadillac from this store and the other purchases, while professional, were not worked near as hard by the dealership as this one was.
