    Talking ELR is short for....

ELDORADO (most previous 2 door CADS are ELDORADOS).

Does seem a little odd that you are betting on
a bunch of batteries to run a luxury (2 door) vehicle?

You can't let go, can you? The ELR is not an electric Eldorado, no matter how many times you post that nonsensical blather.

The ELR is closer to a CTS in styling, but has both a battery and a gas engine generator, just like the Chevrolet Volt. Please stop letting your ignorance pollute this message board. ELR is no more an abbreviation for Eldorado than CTS is an abbreviation for 'C-Class Touring Sedan' (more likely it's Catera Touring Sedan) or XTS is an abbreviation for 'Extended Touring Sedan' (it actually means "cross [i.e., 'X'] between a DTS and STS" Touring Sedan). ELR stands for "Electric Luxury Range-extended" according to GM materials I've seen on other websites.

The two official abbreviations for Eldorado are ETC (Eldorado Touring Coupe) and ESC (Eldorado Sports Coupe), in case you're wondering.

As for your moronic comment about "betting on a bunch of batteries to run a luxury vehicle," you obviously haven't heard of Tesla.
