I took a DTS for a test drive today, any while everything else was good, I found the heated and cooled seats to be very uncomfortable. It was a lower level DTS, with no sunroof or wood on the steering wheel, but it did have the cooled seats and console. Anyway I sat in it for 15 minutes, and then took it for a 15 minute drive, and my back was not happy. I kept trying to adjust the lumbar, but it didn't seem to work too well. Then, as it would get to the top, I think, of it's range, it would make a very loud thunk.
Everything I have read indicates that the DTS has great seats. Anyone have any thoughts?

BTW, this was a 2006 with about 130,000 km, or 80,000 miles.
Loud clunk? Move on. The DTS doesn't make loud clunks unless something is wrong or about to go wrong. Find a different one in better shape and start over.

Yes, I am referring to the seat. Hence the title of the thread.
TO clarify, if the lumbar adjustment system failed, would that make the seat that uncomfortable? Do Cadillac seats and I just not get along? I've always been comfortable in Cadillacs before, and in all GM cars actually.
I really loved the car. It had something that few cars have anymore: character. But a seat that I don't fit in would knock it right off the list.
ust in case you didn't know... the lumbar will not inly move UP and DOWN.... It also moves IN and OUT...
If I move mine too far forward, it is uncomfortable against my back...
Maybe that was the problem with the seat...

We have the Lux III with the massaging seats, we've found the car to be super comfortable, and after driving a 14 hour trip, you still feel very comfortable. We've had positive feedback from passengers of all sizes.
The dealer might just repair the seat. Even a used seat isn't all that expensive. No used car is going to be perfect.
