2008 Performance - Suspension compressor runs everytime

I just got a 2008 Performance DTS. Every single time I start the vehicle, the air compressor in the back runs. And I mean every time. Sometimes it seems normal as if it is just testing itself. And other times it seems to run for more than a couple of seconds. Like "is this thing gonna shut off?" long

88,000 miles. No "Service Ride Control" or anything like that. Is a leak probable and where might it be?

    Thanks.

Re: 2008 Performance - Suspension compressor runs everytime

The ELC system compressor, IF the system is tight and functioning normally, should do a 2-second prove cycle shortly after you turn the key ON. Unless you then add weight to the rear seat or trunk it should not run again or even for long periods during that drive cycle.

A leak can occur anywhere from the compressor head through the air lines to the shock bladders. Soapy water spray.

Mine clicks on when I first start up but it never runs any other time unless people get in the back seat or there's something heavy in the trunk.
    Pretty much what Sub said.

I bet the bladders on top of the shocks have cracks and are slow leaking. Before trading the DTS I changed the oil and heard air leaking from the bottom of the bladder when I raised the car. It was wet and I could see bubbles where the bladder folds over the shock tube
