    Onstar Red Light

I noticed that the red light on the Onstar mirror has been coming on more often than the green and finally decided to hit the button and get a diagnostic check last night. I remember someone else mentioned that when they did the VCIM upgrade in I think the Silverado Forum that they said the red light came on but everything worked so I figured I'd get the code from Onstar. It turns out it is the bluetooth having a fault. I have an extra antenna I bought when I didn't realize the VCIM I bought came with one and I swapped it out. The light is green! Gonna see if it stays green and if not I'll have em diagnose it and see if there is another issue I need to deal with but I've got my fingers crossed! :-)

It was probably just the antenna...
At least we can hope that was all it was....

I did a swap from a VCIM out of a newer car. Here is the thread on the swap :-)

Hmmm, thanks for the info . . . but, if the number for SAT XM radio changed
then, i'd lose my lifetime subscription. . ..

anyhow, my wife drives that car and she does not care, since she has the car phone thru OnStar.

    good info though,
    thanks again.

I don't believe it changed my XM Radio ID. Pretty sure its the same as it has been. I can double check for ya though.

    Re: Onstar Red Light

Hi Jessica! It looks like its all fixed now :-) The friendly people at Onstar were able to give me the code for the problem and I researched it online. Everything I found pointed to the Bluetooth Antenna being bad and seeing as how I had a new one that I bought my mistake I decided to give it a shot and swap it out and its been perfect ever since :-) Thank you checking back on me I appreciate it! :-)
