Hi there! If this is for your 2004 SLS you are in the wrong forum. Check out the Cadillac Seville Forum. You'll get better answers there. If not I hope someone can help you out here :-)

I have the same problem, rear valve cover leaks. I was told it's Easier to take the motor out to repair. True or not?

I think the 2005 and earlier Deville/DTS required the lowering of the engine cradle (or a similar procedure) to remove the rear valve cover. The 2006 & up DTS does not require this. As per the service manual the cover can be removed fairly easily and without lowering the cradle or shifing the position of the engine in any way. I have a 2006 DTS with a leaking rear valve cover and I plan to do the job soon.

Correct, but even on the 05 down it's easy to do without removing the engine.

I just did this yesterday. Loosen the rear bolts and drop the front of the cradle. Use a jack to lower the front. This rocks the engine forward, tilts the rear cover away from the firewall, makes more room. You can get at the AIR easier and remove it too. I also removed a bracket from the passenger side firewall that I think had wires clipped to for remote start.

Try Flex-seal....LMAO! It supposedly seals all leaks.
