I find this rumor suspect. Not to say it is not true but the facts for me tend to prove otherwise.
Why not call and ask them directly? 1-800-394-2774
Edit: I just called them and got their answering machine with the standard greeting. It is after hours so that would be expected. Usually when a place is out of business they disconnect the phone line or would updated their answering machine greeting saying they have gone out of business.
I have an e&g grill and fog lights on my 14 ATS. Fog lights broke last week. Installer has told me they have shut their doors and they don't know what they can do for me. Grill was on car when I bought brand new ATS on Dec 13th of 2013
E&G was foreclosed on by their bank on December 30th. They did not file for reorganization, the company is closed. Nothing is being made, sold or shipped.
Usually in a bankruptcy situation like this, the bank will have an asset sale. All of the equipment, parts and complete assemblies will be sold by the bank. It's
questionable whether this sale will be only to companies in the accessories business, or if it would ever be open to the public. Usually, banks want to sell assets
in lots, not individual pieces. Everything down to the furniture owned by E&G will be sold.
I just bought on the 20th an E&G black ice 2 piece fine mesh grille from usautocustoms and inquired today about the slow shipping. Usautocustoms told me that E&G have been out of business since the 27th but that they are back and they should be starting shipping out next week.
The company is out of business. They put over 40 people out of work that had been with them for many years. The two sons had been running the business for several years. The father stepped away from the daily business activity and the sons ran it into the ground because of lack of business sense. What a waste. The father is now on the hook for all the back wages due the employees.
