Cadillac DTS Forum - 2006 through 2012 Discussion, 07 dts VCIm location in Past Cadillac Vehicle Discussion; Where is it located at? I found two things that could be the VCIM but wasnt sold on either....
The second image looks similar but I don't think it is. Where are the images from? The VCIM in the 2007 is on the passenger side of the trunk directly behind the rear seat underneath the trunk fabric. I had to crawl into my trunk and pull back the fabric to see it when I changed mine out to a 2011 VCIM.
I can try to take a picture of where mine is when I get off duty tonight and throw it up here if you can't find it. Let me know. :-)
I couldnt wait, I ran out and did it with a spot light. Something isnt right though when I put in the new VCIM the onstar light doesnt light up and i cant get it to work. When I switch back the onstar light lights up and I can head the onstar stuff.
Did you buy a new one or one out of a donor car? If its new it needs to be programmed at a dealership which I've heard horror stories about. Also did you make sure to plug in the cellular and not the GPS antenna? You also need a Bluetooth antenna. Mine was out of a 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe as the donor car. It was plug and play once I got the antenna adapter. The newer VCIMS and Antennas have one wire for both cellular and GPS so the Car will be missing one of the connectors. Bosch sells a part that combines the two separate antennas we have in our cars and run it into one into the VCIM. Let me know what you have going on.
If I understand correctly... You will need a VIN from a newer car to have them program it so that it will work... 2010 or newer.
If they program it with "YOUR" VIN ... it will work just like the one you have now...
Yeah a used one is your best bet. If you aren't gonna use onstar you won't have to worry about the antenna combiner like I did I think. Maybe Superjim can chime in on that part but I think a used one out of one with Bluetooth will do exactly what you need.
