P0300 and C0561 Codes 2008 DTS, LUX III, 114,000 miles

    Good morning all,

Week+ of snow, ice, slush in central Minnesota.

    Temps in minus degrees

Car is driven 5 miles, parked outside for 8 hours then 5 miles back and garaged overnight in temp range 20-30 degrees.

Recieved Service Stabilitrak and Parking Asssit Off DIC messages.

OnStar reported codes P0300 and C0561.

Hoping ice/slush/snow build-up may have had an effect I garaged the car at 50+ degrees for two days.

Are there any plugs/connectors I can check or should I just eat it and take it to Cadillac for more diagnostics. Any idea on what I would pay to have problem(s) identified? Thanks for any advice.

The P0300 indicates a MISFIRE on one or more cylinders...
That is most likely what is causing the C0561.
Fix the P0300 and the C0561 will will probably go away also.

Thanks for the superfast reply SUperJim! Checked codes at autozone and it reads a misfire on cylinder 1. I had the plugs changed 4,000 miles ago at 110,000. Any direction I should move to try and resolve the #1 misfire?

    Thanks again,

Start with checking that the wire/connection on top of the plug is all OK.
Something may be loose and not making a good connection.
I may be wrong, but I THINK #1 is 1st plug on the passengers side on the REAR bank... next to the fire wall..

Is #1 the hard to get to plug that lazy mechanics tend to skip because it takes so much time?

No... that's number 2 and number 3... the two center ones.

This is why I ask for the parts back.
