Any advice for a DTS buyer ?

Looking at a 2009 DTS with about 70,000 kilometers, anything special concerns or problems I should be aware of?

Read the sticky posts just above this one, and look through the pages of threads here for items of interest. Same advice as buying any other used car - do your homework, and Caveat Emptor !

It seems like strut bearings are a common issue along with the heated seats connector melting.

Put up the cash for a slightly newer one that is still under the original factory warranty.

Seems to me a low mileage vehicle.

I don't know how far is the Caddy located. If it's locally listed then I would strongly recommend getting it thoroughly inspected by your mechanic. If not then you can rely on: 1) the Car Fax Report and, 2) an inspection by a professional.

If the DTS is at a dealer get the extended warranty.

Remember: CARFAX is a voluntary reporting database - usually, the only info you see is title transfers and required emissions inspections. Even flood damaged car slip past CARFAX quite frequently.

"Honey, I smashed the Deville up pretty bad - Cooter and BooBoo fixed it with a hammer and some Bondo ! Tell CARFAX, will you ?"
