    DYI Replaced Front Struts 2006 DTS :)

    Thanks for all the forum help on the symptoms of Front Strut bearing problems.
    2006; 67,000 miles well maintained . Struts & Bearings started going about two months ago.

    I got a quote from Tread quarters for $800.00 dealer was more!
    Got my new unit struts from Dearborn Axel on Ebay@ 4198.00 pair!!
    It took about 2 hrs with breaks for the Pass side and 30 minutes for Drivers side.
    Went a lot easier to loosen outer tie rod.
    Big difference

    I'm assuming you have MRC?

    If that price isn't a typo,and all you blught was struts, you paid ~$3,000 too much.

    Does anyone know the correct way to put the bump stop on..position up or down??? On regular strut with coil springs??

    It sits against the strut body, smaller end pointing up.

    I put the monroe sensa trac struts up front.. New to site will try to post a pic later,,and to moist cabbage the factorys i took off the bump stop was small end pointing down..the after market moog bump stop,the directioms had small end pointing up,so i did and idk but i think its wrong because i keep having suspension issuez
