    2007 dts leak

Went to look at a 2007 dts with 47000 miles. It has a rebuilt title from 18 months ago. About 10000 miles put on the last 15 months. As I was inspecting the vehicle, there seems to be a small leak on the front passenger side. Looks like a very light pink color with no obvious smell but it was not water. Any ideas? I plan on taking it to a mechanic but my mind is racing now. Thanks

Hard to say without pictures or liquid analysis.

Used Cadillacs are a dime a dozen - keep looking. Find a good one and you'll love it; find a leaker or maintenance nightmare and the costs will kill you. Regardless of what YOU pay now, you'll be maintaining a car at its original sticker price level. Think about it. In most metro areas Cadillac service is around $100 an hour - parts added later. A "2007" is already 7 model years old ..........

Light pink is either Dexcool or transmission fluid...

Trans fluid is definitely redder than DEX, though that may not be easy to tell when it's a drip on the ground. But, trans fluid is oily and smells like oil, coolant is watery and smells sweet.

From what I have read here in many other posts both tranny and coolant leaks on these cars are evil and can drain your bank account to fix properly.

If it is leaking very little the size of a dime or nickel under the passengers firewall and does not smell sweet, it might just be the tranny o ring leaking. Only $100 part and labor at you're Cadillac dealer.

Similar thing happened to my 07 DTS, turned out to be a water pump.
