    Hello Cadillaclos,

    I am sorry to hear that you are hearing a loud squeaking coming from the belt next to the power steering hose that was replaced on your DTS. Did you have this work done at the dealership? If so, I would suggest bringing this concern back up to them. If you are concerned about the noise is making and are interested in working with a dealership to address this issue, I would be more than happy to assist you in working with them. I can be reached by private message or by email at socialmedia@gm.com. When you send your email, be sure to include “ATTN GREG” in the subject line so that it gets delivered straight to me. I hope to hear from you soon.

    Regards,

    Gregory W.

    If the belt is squeaking... it is not working as designed.
    If fluid got on the belt from the leaking hose... the belt needs to be replaced.

    I agree with Jim, change the belt. If that doesn't solve the problem, then try to isolate the pulley where the squeak is coming from.

    Hi Cadillaclos;

    Congratulations on your 2006 acquisition and I hope that you are enjoying it so far. You did not mention anything about the odometer readings. I bet you have lots of miles on your car and I sure some of the power steering fluid got on the belt. I would recommend replacing the belt.

    Make sure they clean off all the pulleys before they replace the belt.
