    change the belt?

    Attachment 152529
Drove into town today and stopped at kfc, The second I stop I could smell the hot fluid on the engine, rolled down the window to hear a most hated steering pump whine...
Goes to show how quiet these cars are on the inside. after getting under the hood and hoping it was a top side line turned out, no luck, Belt is soaked with PS fluid, If I remember right brake fluid / PS fluid breaks down rubber. Since it's under warranty I'm not going to do much except wait for the shop to open.

Btw....where is the the steering pump on the N*?

    Re: change the belt?

BlueAngel#07, you are correct that the power steering fluid spillage on the belt will be detrimental to the operation of your Caddy. Power steering pump is located on the passenger side with two hoses coming out (one return hose & the other a pressure hose) next to the top pulley & the belt. The pressure hose (a source of leak) comes out of the pump (towards the fire wall) adjacent to the pulley & the belt.

The pump is just underneath the black cap with the steering wheel icon and owner's manual icon printed on it.

if it was me I would. I would not want to break down on the road.
