It could be that the new brake pads themselves are noisy. Some brands of semi-metallic pads are inherently noisier than others because of the ingredients used in the manufacture of the friction material. In many cases, once these pads seat in after a few hundred miles, the noise may go away or be substantially reduced.

Its also possible the rotors were not refinished properly.

    Hello mocaddygirl,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this noise when you are braking in your DTS. I see that you have gotten some great advice from ZL1 as what the noise could be. If you are still concerned in regards to the noise you are hearing and would like to take your vehicle into the local Cadillac dealership’s service department, I would be more than happy to assist you in setting up an appointment and working with the dealership. Please feel free to private message me or send me an email to socialmedia@gm.com with the subject line as “ATTN GREG” if you would like to discuss this further. Thank you very much for your time.
